Subsequent to the issuance of Opinion No. 220 on April 25, 1997, it has come to the attention of the commission that O.C.G.A. §15-6-8(4) specifically authorizes the superior courts of this state to exercise general supervision over all inferior tribunals in their respective jurisdictions.

This statutory provision obviously conflicts with the broad holding of Opinion No. 220, and accordingly, any portion of such Opinion which may be in conflict with the statute is expressly withdrawn.

Except as modified herein, Opinion No. 220 remains viable and binding upon all judicial officers in this state.
